Heres a quick update of my progress.
video
Well three days have passed since purchasing my first Fender Stratocaster and I feel like I am making some real progress here. I am getting past the sore fingers and have began to develop calluses on my finger tips. Looking forward to playing a complete song here soon. =)

Guitar Lesson Day 1 - NIRVANA Come As You Are Riff

video
Practice Day One: They say practice makes perfect. This is one 30 minutes into my first practice and my fingers are already beginning to feel the pain. NO PAIN NO GAIN!

Fender Lickin' Good!!!

Got Me a New Toy! I got the holding part and the sticking the tongue out part down. Now I just need to learn how to make this thing come alive!!! First thing I believe I need to do is get this puppy in tune. GarageBand on the Mac has a tuner built into the software. Lets see how well that is going to work. As far as playing goes the first song that I want to learn how to play is "Come As Your Are" by NIRVANA.

Fender Stratocaster 2,310 Mile Tour

Fender guitars are manufactured in Corona, California.
After traveling 2,310 miles from California to Nevada to Utah to Colorado through Kansas and Oklahoma City my Fender will arrive at my doorstep in the hours to come. Just a drop in the bucket compared to the miles a Rock Stars Fender would have traveled on tour dates. I believe I will use a Fender on a tour bus replacement to the fly on the wall theory.

Guitar Lessons

I recently purchased a Fender Stratocaster that is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday which is tomorrow. I am really stoked to get my greasy little fingerprints all over it. I went to Guitar Center today to check out some amps and purchase a cord for the Fender along with some Fender guitar picks. I ended up purchasing a Fender FM25 DSP amp for a reasonable price. Brought it home powered it up and now I am really stoked about plugging in and throwing down some mean riffs. I found a great site for tabs at UltimateGuitar.com. This whole experiment is a new hobby for myself and I am really looking forward to expanding my creativity in the form of music. I have been a graphic artist and photographer for roughly the past 17 years and the last time that I picked up a instrument was back in middle school band class where I studied the alto saxophone. I once owned a acoustic guitar as a kid that my father gave me as gift. For the most part it just sat there and collected dust because I had no clue what to do with it. I never took lessons or put in the effort to study some chords. I had no direction, motivation or inspiration. I believe that is a important factor when it comes to any kind of expression through art and music. We all need some inspiration. I ended up selling both my acoustic guitar and alto saxophone to a music store in Midwest City for not much money at all. That money was spent on a weekend of partying. Reflecting back on that day now I am upset with myself for letting go of those items. Maybe its more of a nostalgic thing than anything else because I didn't know how to play them. I really enjoy music from a spectator point of view and now have evolved to really dig down deep and learn everything I can about this powerful form of expression through the guitar.
